The East Cost island have reopened after the monsoon season and diving season has resumed. I have not logged any dives since August last year and I am eager to immerse myself underwater with scuba gear (but of course!). Finally confirmed to go but with a heavy heart as my dive buddy will not be there with me. The actual reason of how this trip came about was to spite someone. Lets just refer to that person as BS (as in BullShit).
When I organised a trip for this group last year, there was lots of fun and the weather had been kind. Visibility was an astounding 20 meters and possibly more. To give an idea of the conditions; I have never dived Tiger Reef in flat sea surface, zero current and near perfect visibility. Anyway, back to the story. Couple of weeks ago, I was informed that there was an arrangement to bring this group back to Tioman and the 'organiser' decided not include yours truly. Times like this we get a glimpse of who friends are when there were protests of why wasn't so-and-so included. Some of them encouraged me to go on my own and be there just to see the look on BS's face when I show up at the jetty.
I'm really not there to spite anyone though I would admit it was a bonus if it did. I would like to keep my skills polished and not deprive myself of compressed air for too long a time least I forget how to dive.

Bad boy! Whatever you have up your sleeve, make sure you check, check & recheck your dive gear before entering the water & don't forget to put on your weightbelt & turn on your air. Even veterans like us tend to forget one thing or two (like my computer) when we enter the water after a long break. And say hi to the fishes for me...!
